Many Investments in our Youth & Seniors
In Rancho Cordova, we've made many investments in our youth and our senior citizens, and I'm proud to be a leader on the City Council in making these opportunities happen.
As Chair and Founder of the Rancho Cordova Athletic Association or as a Police Activity League Board Member -- I'm proud of these investments by our City in our youth -- particularly the disadvantaged and most vulnerable.
Here's what we can all be proud of in Rancho Cordova:
- New Rancho Cordova Youth Center under development - the biggest game-changer for the youth of Rancho Cordova in our history.
- New Rancho Cordova Civic Center under development - our largest project to date, with opportunities for youth and seniors, artists and entrepreneurs to experience something innovative and new along Folsom Boulevard.
- Rancho Cordova Promise Program - helping hundreds of kids go to college for free.
- New Hagan Pool Complex in Hagan Park - restoring a beloved community amenity for youth and seniors alike.
- New Rancho Cordova Girl's Softball Complex - built in partnership with the School District at Mills Middle School - this gives our girls one of the best youth softball facilities in the region.
- Remodeled Rancho Cordova Little League Complex at Cordova Lane Elementary - designed, funded, and coming soon -- likely in 2021.
- Dozens of supported programs at Rancho Cordova Schools, ranging from STEM education, to arts enrichment, musical instruments, field trip support, leadership training, and much more.
- Expanded opportunities at the Rancho Cordova Senior Center - in partnership with this Park District facility. We've helped the Cordova Recreation and Park District expand and support programs that engage our seniors in fun and healthy activities.
- New Safe Routes to School sidewalks, pedestrian, crossings, etc. making our neighborhoods safer for kids going to school and pedestrians.
- Police Athletic League (PAL) - giving hundreds of at-risk youth in Rancho Cordova opportunities to play and grow in a safe environment.
- Rancho Cordova Athletic Association - an organization of youth sports organizations working together to be sure that every kid in Rancho Cordova has a chance to play.
- Meals on Wheels and Great Plates programs providing meals to our senior citizens who can't get out on their own, particularly during this COVID pandemic.
